Submit an article to Reframed Magazine, pitch an idea, or
share a personal experience for consideration. Use the
form below to introduce yourself and your story.
We welcome voices from Portland, Vancouver, WA, and
Seattle—as well as perspectives from beyond the
Pacific Northwest.
You don’t need to be a professional writer to have a story
worth sharing. These guidelines will help you submit an
article, suggest an idea, or introduce your personal story
to Reframed Magazine.
What we welcome
Personal essays, thoughtful articles, and story ideas
about identity, second chances, criminal justice,
family, community, film, art, and creativity.
Suggested length
Aim for 600–1,500 words for a completed article.
For a story idea or personal experience, 150–300
words is enough to get started.
Your work and sources
Submit material you wrote or have permission to share.
Mention any previous publication and include sources
for statistics, research, and factual claims.
Privacy and personal details
Share only details you’re comfortable having considered
for publication. Tell us about any concerns involving
names or identifying information.

Contributions are currently unpaid.
We cannot accept every submission. Sending an article,
suggesting a story, or completing an interview does not
guarantee publication. If selected, we’ll discuss editing,
credit, and publication permission with you before publishing.
