PRODUCTION · EDUCATION · DISTRIBUTION
Metamora Films develops documentary, educational, and social-impact media for organizations, filmmakers, schools, nonprofits, and communities.
From production and long-term content partnerships to workshops, educational licensing, and selected distribution, we help shape projects from the first idea through the audiences they are meant to reach.
01 · PRODUCTION
Metamora Films develops and produces documentary, film, podcast, educational, and social-impact media for organizations, filmmakers, nonprofits, and communities.
We can join a project at the earliest idea stage or later in production, helping with development, research, pre-production, interviews, filming, editing, post-production, and final delivery. Projects may be local to the Pacific Northwest or national, depending on the story and scope.
For filmmakers and organizations working in Washington, additional production resources are available through Washington Filmworks ↗ .
02 · CONTENT PARTNERSHIPS
Metamora Films works with organizations that need more than a single film or one-time production.
Film and media parternships create an ongoing relationship for documentary stories, interviews, podcasts, educational media, event coverage, editing, and other recurring content needs. Over time, we can learn the organization, its audience, and the people behind its work — making each new story easier to develop and more consistent with the larger mission.
03 · WORKSHOPS & TRAINING
Metamora Films develops practical workshops and training sessions around documentary storytelling, social-impact media, project development, and lived-experience storytelling.
Sessions can be offered locally in the Portland–Vancouver, WA area or online for organizations, schools, nonprofits, creative teams, and community groups. Workshops may stand alone or be developed around a specific program, film, audience, or organizational need.
We also want these spaces to be welcoming to justice-impacted people and emerging creatives. Lived experience can bring important perspective to storytelling, discussion, and media work, and we would like to create more opportunities for people with direct experience of incarceration, reentry, stigma, and rebuilding to take part.
On-site workshops, training sessions, discussions, and facilitated programs throughout the local region.
Remote workshops and training for organizations, classrooms, teams, and communities beyond the Pacific Northwest.
04 · EDUCATIONAL FILMS & LICENSING
Metamora Films creates and licenses documentary and educational media for schools, universities, nonprofits, training programs, and community organizations.
Films can be used for classroom instruction, staff development, facilitated discussions, public screenings, and issue-based programming. Depending on the project, licensing may include screening rights, educational access, or companion materials that help organizations build meaningful discussion around the film.
Documentary and educational media for schools, colleges, universities, and academic programs.
Licensed use for staff development, community programs, workshops, and mission-driven education.
05 · FILM DISTRIBUTION
Metamora Films works to help selected films reach educational, community, and mission-driven audiences.
Our focus is on documentary and social impact work connected to criminal justice, incarceration, reentry, stigma, second chances, and related social issues. Rather than broad commercial distribution, we are more interested in helping meaningful films find the right homes through schools, nonprofits, advocacy groups, public screenings, and community-based programming.
Depending on the project, distribution support may include educational outreach, screening opportunities, community partnerships, audience development, and licensing pathways for organizations that want to use the film as a tool for learning, dialogue, or social change.
Films placed with educational institutions, advocacy organizations, and public-interest audiences.
Focused on screenings, licensing, partnerships, and long-term community use rather than mass release.
Real people. Clear purpose. Stories that connect.
