Metamora Films is currently seeking people who are willing to share their lived experiences on camera for upcoming documentary projects.
Right now, our primary focus is Versions of Me , an ongoing educational documentary series exploring identity, stigma, incarceration, reentry, relationships, rebuilding, and the ways people can be seen differently after major life experiences.
The series is being developed as an educational and screening resource for teachers, high schools, colleges, universities, nonprofits, community organizations, public screenings, and facilitated discussions.
Film subjects wanted to speak openly on camera about their own experiences with identity, stigma, incarceration, reentry, rebuilding, and how major life experiences have affected the way others see them.
Versions of Me is an ongoing educational documentary series about identity, stigma, rebuilding, and the difference between who a person is and how they may be perceived by others.
The series focuses on people whose lives have been shaped by incarceration, reentry, social stigma, relationships, major life changes, and the difficult process of moving forward when a past experience continues to influence how other people see them.
Each episode centers on an individual story. The goal is not to reduce someone to a conviction, diagnosis, mistake, label, or single chapter of their life. Instead, the series looks at the whole person: where they have been, who they are now, the people around them, and what rebuilding actually looks like in everyday life.

Filming may include interviews, everyday activities, time with the people in your life, or unscripted observational filming where our cameras document real moments and experiences as they happen.
We’re not looking for performances or rehearsed answers. We’re interested in genuine experiences and people who are comfortable telling their story in their own words.
Participants must currently live in the Portland, Oregon / Vancouver, Washington metro area or within approximately 25 miles of the metro area to be considered.
Because filming may involve multiple sessions and observational footage over time, we are currently limiting participation to people who are local enough for ongoing production.
